Norah | Dance Portraits

This young lade came to the studio for some dance portraits to commemorate her amazing year in dance! This was the second time I got to photograph the lovely Norah. The first time was back in 2015 when her beautiful family came for portraits in the summer. You can check out those photos here. This time, we had fun working one on one to capture her beautiful and varied dance costumes. She dances with the Port Perry Dance Academy here in town. I actually got to see her dance in their big year end show, as my eldest daughter was in it this year, too. The show was a grand display of amazing local talent. So many great performances by all the cast and crew. And as such, Norah was a natural in front of the camera, and I had to give very little direction. These poses are all her own!

Dance portraits are a wonderful way to capture the magic of your child’s career in sport. These portraits make excellent gifts and will be treasured for years to come. Part of the process for these sessions is to get to know you and what you love most about dance! Prior to your session, we will discuss your goals for the overall look and feel you are aiming to achieve. We can work together to plan the backdrops, lighting and whether you’re hoping for an in-studio experience or something in an urban setting. Things to consider before your session, are you hoping to capture movement, emotion, storytelling? These elements can be infused into your imagery to tell the story you want to tell.

So if you would like to create something to remember their dance experience, let’s connect to discuss your vision!
