This was the second time this beautiful family came to my outdoor studio for their portrait session. This year they had a new family member they wanted to include! It is always an honour when families become repeat customers. Last year we had just had a sprinkling of snow the week leading up to their session. This year the weather was absolutely perfect; the absolute best fall-weather type of day. The sun was shining. There was hardly a cloud in the sky. The wind was just a breeze and it was so, so warm! In fact, I think it was the warmest day that we had in October (at the time I was writing this)!
Penneye had brought along her husband and four kids, and their two fur kids Timber and Tundra. We took a walk through the field and utilized a few of the lovely spots in the property to create a variety of looks for their images. We even hauled out the antique white couch! This was the first time this season I’ve brought it out, ha!
This time we focused a bit more on the candid images and spent some time just letting the family interact with each other, and I snapped away. These are the moments I try to capture for you to look back on and reminisce. Even though your kids are all grown up, doesn’t mean you won’t forget things from this stage in their life. The years may not be as fleeting as they were when the kids were little, but they still do fly by. Capture those connections, like the way they laugh when you tell them something funny. Or the way they embrace you and their eyes crinkle up at the edges. Big kids still mean big memories. Capture them with a custom photography session.
Here are a few of my favourites. If you are feeling like you’ve missed the fall colours for your family portrait, we are now booking studio spots for November! There is still time to get those updated family photos for your holiday cards.
