The Parrys | Family Portrait

One of my photography teachers once told me, a portrait is given, not taken – and the Parry’s sure gave me one awesome family portrait session. I have had the honour of photographing this beautiful family for about 5 years. It is their tradition to have a family portrait taken each fall. Sarah has told me that it is the one thing she holds dear, and that family portraiture is important to her. I may be a little biased, but I couldn’t agree more! haha

It was a very overcast and gloomy Friday when they came to our studio property for their session. This fall was so wet, and so rainy, that most of my sessions happened on gloomy overcast days. But we made the best of it, and spent an hour strolling around the field taking some candid and posed images. They were very comfortable in front of the camera. They had me laughing in stitches, not the other way around! I think you can see their personalities and love for one another shine through in these images. That is always my main goal. To make you feel comfortable enough to relax and be yourselves.
