Engagement Sessions in the Snow!

I absolutely adore photographing winter engagement sessions! Actually, I really love photographing outside in the winter for all types of sessions. But seeing as it is currently the month of love, I hold an extra special place for winter engagement sessions 😉

When Amy contacted me about photography, she mentioned they recently got engaged outside in the snow. I knew then we had to plan an outdoor session. Just because there’s snow on the ground, doesn’t mean that it’s not the PERFECT time to be outside for your portraits 🙂 If you dress accordingly, then all weather is portrait weather!

On the day of the shoot, it was grey and snowy afternoon. The light was even and soft, which is ideal for portraits. We took a walk through the field stopping at my favourite spots for couples portraits. They were the cutest couple, with genuine smiles and heartfelt laughs. You could feel the love radiating between them!

What time of year did you get engaged? Was there an elaborate engagement or did you both just decide the time was right? One of the perks of being a photographer is getting to hear so many stories from people of all walks of life. Hearing how you met, what you love about the other, are some of the things we’ll talk about when creating these images for you. Feeling nervous? No need! A big part of my job is to help you relax and be yourselves. Your true personalities will shine through. Looking deep into the others eyes and talking about what makes you each special, will generate these beautiful, natural expressions. (even if you don’t want me to hear and you speak softly 😉)

With Valentine’s Day only a couple of weeks away, planning a couples session out in the snow is a wonderful gift idea (hint, hint 😉).
